The Palace of Art weightlifting club has six training platforms and racks and weights for each platform. The club also has some powerlifters and their suitable equipment to make it a good all round free weights facility in Glasgow.

The Palace of Art weightlifting club membership is now growing and is concentrating on developing the sport from all ages but mainly from youth.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TRYING OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING THEN WHY NOT COME ALONG ON A MON - WED - FRI @ 4PM

______________________________________________________________

Weightlifting has a section for under 13 year olds which concentrates on technical ability rather than how much weight is lifted. The technique is marked on points and the lifter can take the same weight on 3 consecutive turns if required....all technical points and total of all weights lifted are recorded. This method is to encourage coaches and lifters to be sensible in the training methods and weights that are atempted at competitions.

There is currently a waiting list for access to the club and membership is dependent upon competing in the sport of weightlifting.

Clubs wishing to participate in inter-club compeitions should contact the email address below.
